Instead of starting to go on about how i spent my Christmas eve this year, why not a more realistic angle: How much I spent my cash in just a short one day! Here it goes...
1) This morning, I woke up late because my mom forgot the time to wake me up. Ok, i am dependent on human alarm clock but i just can't seem to wake up based on the mechanical one. So, there be it. And, I have to cab down. Yes, you did not get it wrong: I meant CAB. And, i foolishly took a Comfort cab too. So, as you can calculate the journey from one part of Singapore to another, that will be how much my cab fare is to school. Let me put in the surcharges: $2 (morning extra) + $2 (CTE) + $2 (PIE). That is only the surcharges alone. So, do some calculations and you'll know I start my day with a hole in my pocket, not literally.
2) Lunch was fine. But, we(candy, Peggy and I) decided to treat ourselves to something better so at Clubhouse. We ordered 3 dishes and feasted on them. The price was still quite reasonable.
3) Then, went to town to meet with Jel, Zijie and Marcus Chua. Apparently, they 'planned' this for quite some time but when I reached there late.. ok, sorry. haas... they still have no substantial plan or something called a plan to begin with.haas, the both of you... So who should be planning? haas. So, we just began to walk around aimlessly and fruitlessly. I bet we must have combed the streets of Orchard for at least 4 times to and fro? Ok, that's pathetic. 3 bored souls just walking... Oh, but i ate an Ice-Cream. So, bored as we are, we decided to go catch a movie: quite silly a notion because holiday pricing is EXORBITANT! But, the movie is at night. So, once again we have nothing to do. But, this time Marcus Chua met us and we were having a good laugh at his shaved head (haas, quite nice to touch! ) and he looked so different even after just one week in NS. But, yea.. back to how we acc him to shop for his clothes and stuff... After which, we wanted budget dinner isntead of the original fanciful one we planned. So, LGS is shall be!
4) Last part of the night, after catching the quite boring and still in the process of analysing movie, I am legend, we walked around Orchard again. This time, the lights are all lit up but the human traffic is as horrendous as ever. It's almost as if the whole Singpaore is swimming amongst the tiny concrete pavement. So, we decided to escape to somewhere saner but still high in the count of ambience: Clarke Quay! Ok, well, i wanted to take the river taxi because in my 18yrs of being in singapore, i have never been on its wooden boards and touch its smooth furnishings. Not to mention, feel the bob of the no-currents singapore waters. Well, but in the end, after touring around the area, and we see that the river taxi is closed by the time we want to take it. So, we kind of explored the place and soaked in the ambience and finally settled in TCC to drink and fill our stomachs. I must say the food and drink is superb but so is the price! EXORBITANT once again.
well well, now you must see that i shall be a hermit crab for the rest of this week. I hope. But, we shall see about that. At least i have to complete my work before even thinking of stepping out of the house! But, yea, that's how i spent, literally now, my Christmas eve. And, yea, the wee hrs of Christmas...
Merry Christmas!

The past week, especially thurs is really a bad bad week for me... Totally bogged down by the projects, the unpleasant happenings in my life and the mishaps and throw in some super bad medicine (can't believe it... After a week and I still have yet fully recover and the flu is not gone... ). Yes, so all in all a really bad moment for me.
And, today... finally things changed and the skies cleared. I am in a really good mood even my proj is still yet to be done... I know my piece of good news might not even be anything to any of you but whatever... it's the best for me!
1. 5566's 4TH ALBUM AND NEWEST ALBUM IS COMING OUT ON 4 JAN 2008. PRE-ORDERING STARTS TODAY AND THEY ARE COMING ON THE 17 DEC FOR AUTOGRAPH SESSION. I heard their new songs online and see them boogey to the tunes, with slick and fabulous dance steps, which is quite different from their previous albums... It even won rave reviews in youtube comments page.... after 2 years plus of not having a new album... imagine the wait! And, now you know why this piece of news totally raised my spirits! But, I am still waiting to pre-order...
2. The best Christmas present: The theatre play by Dream Academy Playhouse - A Crazy Christmas. Just watched this like a few hours ago at The Drama Centre. It's a concert with no plot and no storyline. So, you might think it's just some christmas carolling and all but lo and behold.. IT'S NOT! The cast of 10 which includes Selena Tan, John Lee, Lim kay Siu, Pam Oei, Robin Goh, Tan Kheng Hwa, Lim Yu Beng, Sebestian Tan, Denise Tan, Lim Shi-An and finally.... HOSSAN LEONG! This guy, stand-up comedian and acclaimed actor is totally rave-worthy and definitely one to go ga-ga over... When you see him take the stage and even when he doesn't sing and just plain talk is so engaging and captivating. He's a star upon himself and this guy belongs on stage! Look at how he twists and turns, exaggerated hand movements and totally cool vocals...I can only say: throw this person at any sad, weeping soul and viola! I bet the person will be spinning in no time... How can someone be so at home on stage? That's the power of theatre. The Live! And, that's also the reason why i would rather cash in over-the-top amount on a play than on a concert by my favourite pop star! I have no explanation but it's just that. Be there and you would understand the difference in the ambience.
The play is a concert and the songs are not carols but jazz, pop, rock and everything else... I am not bias in saying this but they should totally have a soundtrack because it totally beats any Christmas singles or albums out there... The festivity is in the air, the mood is 'woah' and you get to see all the familiar faces in the local theatre scene all in one night, one play.... If it;s not for a sold-out one tomorrow night, I would have gone again to catch them in action and see them bring the house down! Anytime, for Hossan, the best comedian and my favourite theatre star!
I am so going to catch The Dim Sum Dollies re-run next year... but yea, gonna save up starting now... Argh, such a theatre bug... Sometimes, i wonder what it will be like being up there and doing all these... The feeling of stage, the presence of real audience and the proximity of the stage...
I'm Loving it...
ok, totally raving post... but, well, still in the mood because I just came back from the play.. haas.
Anyway, now that I feel so christmasy, I shall be a little cliche and do up a wish list:
- my dear 5566 album
- MatchBox Twenty album
- Bluelist 2008 travel Book
- watch Dim Sum Dollies
- Tour Singapore on Christmas Eve
- For all the projects to end (which is impossible)
- To have dinner at Fullerton WaterFront at night
- To be happy and not be sick again
- To meet Santa ( a childhood wish)
- To take beautiful pictures
- Just to be out and really enjoy myself for one night
Ok, it doesn't make sense but still...
just ignore this post!
