A couple of hours or so. A brand new year will come knocking on our doors or windows for those who dont have a door ( as if! ). At this last couple of hours before we welcome this spanking new year, what am i doing?

Many people choose to go for a raving party either at Vivo City or one of the various countdown parties around the island. For others, a vigil may be observed with the family. Or we can choose to write down our resolutions for the new year and reflect on the past year. Guess which option i choose to 'abode'? well.. yes.. thats kind of obvious since i am here and not raving mad outside; where the crowd is. Listing down resolutions and wishes for the new year are kind of a hogwash and to some complete bollocks! But you can never blame the girl for trying even though I know and you know that for me to follow these resolutions are kinda far-fetched. Yea.. So let thou begin my list:

1) relieve my workload
2) excel in my studies
3) stay out way past midnight
4) growing taller? (well.. its kind of impossible )
5) travelling overseas ( and its not malaysia )
6) indulge in something exciting
7) Do something i have never done before
8) able to fulfil my responsibilities
9) enjoy myself to the fullest
10) be NOT afraid of pets...

Ok.. that done, what about the more emotional ones? Not the crying-emotional nor the gut-clutching laughter but just that it is cognitive. Well, it might be just a futile attempt by humans to make their year appear a better one and a more organised life but it does no harm to continue believing in what we call destiny and hope, even if its just a glimmer.

I wish to:

1) be happy and carefree
2) for others around me to stop their rivalry and live in harmony
3) thank all those who love me for who i am and never give up on me
4) to be just me
5) just have a happy new year

I am not some saint who prays for world peace and cease fire because i know its all impossible but i can only wish for those i know to be safe and happy. Thats not too greedy is it? Just five little wishes for me to cling on to and ten resolutions to make my life appear nicer; a fantasy u called it? But who cares? Do we even have to think that much just to write these down? i dont think so. Its in our physical self, emotional self and spiritual being.

After these, stand up with me and let the new year rush into our embrace. let us welcome this year full of surprises, happiness and excitement BECAUSE this is the ending of a new beginning. The start of the end. The birth of a new nation begins when the chime sounds.
